What is Type A Roof Deck?

Type A roof deck is often used for repair and re-roofing projects, due to its lower strength-to-weight ratio compared to Type B and Type F roof decks. The steel supports below the metal deck must be spaced closer together since Type A roof deck cannot carry as much load at longer spans.
